I loved this great Christmas story! Violet loves Christmas so much that she owns a Christmas store in her hometown. She is also in charge of a big Christmas festival where people’s homes are decorated outside and inside and open for tours before Christmas. The best and most famous house on the tour has been in one family’s hands for generations. The owner has recently passed away and his grandson has come to prepare the house to sell it. Brady’s plans slowly start to fall apa
This is a fun light hearted Christmas romcom. Kate’s friend has convinced her to sign up for Twelve Dates Of Christmas. As Kate starts going on her dates it is fun to see the adventures she has. Each date is quite unique and some are really awful. Kate’s friend Laura keeps encouraging her to continue as her other best friend Matt makes fun of her suitors. Early on you know how the book is going to end but it was still fun to follow along with her dates.
This was an interesting thriller set in a luxurious ski chalet. There were a lot of characters to keep straight initially. A tech start up company brought their employees to the chalet to have a series of meetings. Also in the chalet were two employees of the chalet company that were there as hosts. The guests head out for a day of skiing and on their return they realize one of them is missing. A massive avalanche comes rumbling down the mountain and they become trapped. Murd
I’m not usually a fan of time travel books but this one piqued my interest. The story alternates between present day and Ireland in 1844. Liam, a thief and a poor commoner falls in love with Cora who comes from an upper crust family. Cora is also madly in love with Liam in 1844. Fast forward and Angels drop Liam into present day and tell him he must convince Cora to marry a man named Finn. Although this breaks his heart Liam attempts to encourage Cora to fall in love with the
This is a fun, light, romcom. Katharine spontaneously quits her job in London and moves back to her hometown to open her own art gallery. She is introduced to the enigmatic and infuriating local artist. Of course they can’t stand each other at first but this being a romcom their feelings change over time - well actually very quickly. It’s a bit too sudden (if you ask me) and it all wraps up fast and neat after that. It’s a cute book but nothing earth shattering.
This was a slow paced domestic suspense book. This is a story about postpartum depression, friendship, and trauma. When Jess begins having thoughts about harming her baby she makes the poor decision to leave her children home alone for a few minutes while she takes a quick break. Her baby daughter then shows signs of trauma later in the evening. At the hospital it is determined that Betsey has a skull fracture. How did this happen and who is to blame? Jess is showing all the
This was a suspense filled, atmospheric story. After the death of her husband Mallory buys a house online in a remote town called Loss Lake. Once she arrives in town and she starts to meet the citizens of Loss Lake she begins to wonder what she has gotten herself into. Her creepy house is also causing her some concern. I wouldn’t have lasted a day in that house! Between the quirky characters and the atmospheric writing this book stays suspenseful and creepy throughout. I real
I took a break from thrillers last weekend and read this one. This was a fun romcom to change up my reading. While this is a romcom it also highlights some serious issues in the NFL. CTE, kneeling, and BLM are all dealt with in the story. I am so happy the author brought all of these important elements forward. These are issues that I am frustrated with the NFL about. Their lack of empathy and interest in dealing with the issues their Black players deal with within the league
This is a book that I really enjoyed. Constance has recently lost her father and her fiancé has left her. She has neglected her health and her life has fallen into a rut. Constance’s sister Sunny is always after her to get out of the house and to begin to enjoy life again. Constance unexpectantly joins a gym and her life begins to change. She starts a relationship with the gym owner and slowly gets her life back. Rhett has PTSD and injuries from his years serving overseas and
I loved this book! Sharon is reluctant when her law firm assigns her to work on a pro bono case. On the upside she wants to be named full partner in the firm so she hopes this will be the case to get her promoted. That is before she finds out what the case is and who she is representing. After a family scandal involving her father, when she was a child, Sharon is reluctant to take on cases involving developers and city owned land. The case she will be proceeding with will mea
