I somehow missed posting my review for this book last year after I read it. Thank you to the author for sending her book my way.
I really enjoy this author’s books so of course I was interested in this one. This is the first in a series featuring Detective Calista Gates. The descriptions and details in this author’s books are exceptional. I always love her characters too. This story is set in Labrador which is not somewhere that is usually found in books. Calista needs to so
This was a fun read. Once Dani realizes her now ex fiancé was cheating on her she is out for revenge. She buys the lot next to his new house and decides to build an air B&B there. Not only will the house obstruct his view but the yard will be tacky and people will be constantly coming and going. She hires Wyatt the grouchy architect that works at the same firm as her to do the blueprints for her ‘Spite House’. She soon begins to think maybe Wyatt isn’t as grouchy as he seems
This was definitely a page turner. I am a fan of this author’s books and this is another good one. Charlotte has been rebuilding her life after leaving her husband Sam and their life of crime behind. Unfortunately she is pulled back into it when Sam is presumed to be dead. Or is he? The cruise ship aspect was interesting. I enjoyed this one and although I guessed some of the twists I didn’t guess them all. Another good suspense read!
Gemma wants to have a baby and she enlists her brother’s best friend to help her out. As Gemma has been told she can’t have a baby without IVF she needs a sperm donor and decides Josh is the perfect candidate. The characters are likeable and the story flows well. This book has more depth than a normal romcom which was nice. I really liked this book and read it in one day!
This was quite an adrenaline rush from beginning to end. Kimberly Belle is one of my favourite authors and she has written another exceptional book. I don’t want to give away too many details since this is a suspense book! I thought the plot execution was great. The characters and their backstories were interesting and like I said the story definitely kept my adrenaline up. I read this one in nearly one sitting because I loved it so much.
This was certainly a thought provoking book. Stefan has just been released from prison after serving his sentence for killing his girlfriend. At the time of the murder Stefan was only 17 so he still has his whole life ahead of him. Reentering society proves difficult for him and for his parents to navigate. There is also the issue of the guilt and horror of his crime that they all struggle with. Thea also wrestles with reconciling how well she knew her son and how well she kn
I love this author’s books and this was no exception. This is a fast paced thriller that I raced through in one evening. Jessica grew up in a cult but was able to escape when she was a teenager. Now Jessica is a journalist and is embroiled in a plagiarism scandal involving an article she wrote. To get away from the controversy she decides to take a vacation and surprisingly meets up with a woman in the airport with the same name and birthdate as her. What are the odds? When J
My first book by Karen Swan was Christmas at Tiffany’s and I have enjoyed so many of her books since. I always look forward to her books at Christmas and this one definitely didn’t disappoint. I especially loved the sports aspect in this book. If you are looking for a great book make sure to check out one from this author.
I really liked this author’s earlier novel, VOX, but this one unfortunately didn’t work for me. VOX is also a dystopian novel like this one but it wasn’t as dark. It still had heart and this book didn’t seem to have that. I will look forward to seeing what this author writes next.
