Review of Mind Games

This is a heartwarming book with some interesting magical realism. Magical realism is not usually my thing but I seem to be reading more books with it lately. Here the magical realism was intriguing although it at times seemed complicated but that could just be because I’m not really familiar with it. I found the family very likeable and engaging and the plot was interesting and multilayered. I did find some parts of the book to be slower and overly detailed. I do appreciate descriptive writing but aspects of the farm and home life etc were a little too descriptive. Overall an interesting book!
