I went into this book not knowing anything about it, but I loved the author’s last book, so I was eager to read this one. Lenny’s life is a mess. She is grieving the death of her best friend, Lou, and she is unable to get her life back on track - she is overwhelmed with her grief and can’t move past her despair. After taking a temporary babysitting job, she meets the child’s Uncle Miles. He soon sees that Lenny is struggling and begins to draw out what is happening in her life as he starts to help her overcome some of her issues and process her grief. Miles has had his own losses and struggles with grief and as he helps Lenny he also deals with some of his own problems. This book had depth and heartbreaking moments and they were so well written. I loved the banter and the slow-burning relationship of the main characters. Miles was a wonderful character and I loved seeing him evolve as his romantic relationship with Lenny evolved. Overall a well written and thoughtful book.
