Review of When Harry Met Minnie: A True Story of Love and Friendship

This is an amazing and poignant book. I love books set in NYC and throw in cute dogs and I think it should be a good story. This memoir was even more than I hoped for. Martha runs into an acquaintance as she walks her dog Minnie and as they chat he asks if she would be interested in taking his friend’s dog as Martha has the same breed of dog. The friend, Carol, is dying of cancer and she needs someone to take Harry for her. Carol and Martha connect and Martha debates taking Harry. The two women form a bond as well as their dogs. The relationship that evolves between the two women and their dogs is remarkable and touching. This is a wonderful, emotional, well written memoir.
