This is a interesting romcom! Lizzie has ADHD and after reading how chaotic her life and thoughts are as a result of this my brain was exhausted. It is so significant and compelling to have a main character dealing with ADHD and having a window into her life. Rake is a wonderful character and his understanding and awe and love for Lizzie was so real and honest. After a chance meeting and two nights together Lizzie finds out she is pregnant. Rake is all in from the beginning.
Thank you Harlequinpublicityteam and HarlequinBooks for my free review copy. Wow! This is a steamy and entertaining second book in a series but can also definitely be read as a standalone. Alba and Theo are amazing together and I loved their dialogue. Both Alba and Theo are complex and layered characters with a lot going on in their lives. I also really appreciated Theo’s beliefs and actions regarding the position he took when he was Alba’s boss. It was a positive example of
I have read many of this author’s books and was really impressed with all of them and this might be her best yet. Nicole is a lawyer and finds out her law firm is unhappy with the lack of clients and billable hours she is bringing to the firm. A lot of Nicole’s self worth is in her career so she is distressed to feel she is not on an upward trend. Just after this happens she learns of a self empowerment retreat for women. After attending the retreat things start to escalate i
This is an enemies to lovers romcom. I definitely appreciated the STEM aspect of the book and I liked the dialogue and the character development. I was initially unimpressed about the age difference and uneven power dynamic when the main characters first meet. Years pass before their romantic relationship fully develops and they are on more even footing so I admired that the author took the story this way. Overall a great romcom.
I really enjoyed this domestic suspense novel. Naomi is a psychologist that often gets a bit too involved in her client’s cases. This is what happens when she helps a client but when he suddenly vanishes she is accused of having something to do with his disappearance. Has she read the situation all wrong? There were a lot of twists and turns and it definitely kept me guessing. I loved the writing and the fast paced plot.
What a great debut by this Canadian author! This was such an interesting book and it’s set in Vancouver. It’s always fun to find a book set in Canada. Becky and Dev don’t have a lot in common at first glance except for their great emotional and physical chemistry. They both come from very different backgrounds. I loved learning about Dev’s Sikh heritage and culture along with Becky. Can two people from such different backgrounds make it as a couple? You definitely should read
I love Kaira Rouda’s books! This is another good one with the author’s trademark unlikeable characters. We have John, the husband, Kate, the ex wife, Tish, the home wrecker and new wife, and Ashlyn the daughter. Mix all of these characters together and conflict happens. It is amazing how devious these narcissistic people can be. There are twists and turns throughout in this psychological thriller. This book has loads of suspense and of course characters you dislike. That is a
Nina was stood up at prom and has never gotten over it. Fast forward a few years and her best friend is marrying her prom nemesis’s best friend. She has to deal with Harrison face to face. I liked that the book had dual POVs so we get both sides of the story. I enjoyed this book but it wasn’t the best romcom I’ve ever read.
What a great debut novel! This is a romance story set in a beautiful scenic vineyard. I really enjoyed this book. There are a lot of gorgeous descriptions about gardens and vineyards as Rowan is a botanist. Rowan and Harry are both wonderful strong characters. Harry comes from a big boisterous and fun family and it was fun to see all their interactions. The love story was very well written. Overall this was a great book and there are so many supporting character’s backstories
I really enjoyed this suspenseful thriller book. I thought the Nursery Rhyme aspect of the book was well written in relation to the killer’s clues. Fiona and Asa were both great characters and I liked their chemistry and character development. I found the whole book was suspenseful and enjoyed the fast pace and twists. Check this out if you’re looking for a great psychological thriller.
